On the surface, the spiritual landscape of our times appears barren, with shifting sands blown by the latest news storm. Yet God’s prophetic voice declares that a highway for our God is to be made. The all-powerful Lord of Hosts has decreed an end-time harvest of souls unique to our times. Jesus described it as the 11th hour harvest (Matthew 20). So according to Isaiah 40, what does a Leveler do?
The valleys need to be exalted. These are the “low places” where God’s truth have been diminished—love, joy, grace, healing the whole person, discernment, wise counsel, and the power of the Spirit for today—just to name a few. Too many people, including believers, have lost hope. They need to be reintroduced to Jesus, the hope of our salvation.
Every mountain and hill needs to be brought low. These are the “high places” of human traditions that interpret the Scriptures based on preconceived human agendas rather than allowing the Bible to interpret the Bible. Since end-time doctrine is a foundational element of our faith, our Father does not want the Body of Christ divided. God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33).
The crooked places of misinterpretation and the rough places where holes and rocky obstacles appear in our human traditions need to be acknowledged and laid at the altar of God. We must humble ourselves and allow the Spirit of revelation to help us put the puzzle of end-time prophecy together properly. We need to make sure we have an understanding of the times so we can move forward in unity and power. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken: “the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.” We can hardly wait, Lord!
